Sara’s blog about the researching rural community development in Balaton-felvidék

I have spent the past few weeks learning how the EU, Hungary and the Éltetõ office work together to support this region, and rural regions throughout the EU. This is requiring a lot of reading and is something I will be learning about all year.

Luckily, this is also the time for the submission of applications to Éltetõ. I am attending some of the group meetings and look forward to meeting local producers and business owners at these events. These events are a good opportunity for me to learn who is involved, even though I only speak a little Hungarian. At these meetings I also learn more about what kinds of projects exist in this beautiful part of Hungary, and what the support of the Éltetõ means for participants.

Fall has been lovely here in Sūmeg and has given me the chance to taste locally grown and made specialties while enjoying the fall colors.
